Terms and Conditions

Last updated: November 6, 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website at aeque.co (the "Site"), operated by Aeque ("Aeque", "we", "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. The Site and our services

The Site describes Aeque's software, including Shortfall, and our audit and dispute-support services. Use of Shortfall, available at shortfall.aeque.co, is governed by the terms and privacy policy published in that application, which you accept when you create an account. Audit and dispute-support engagements are governed by a separate written agreement. If those terms conflict with these Terms, they take precedence for that product or service.

2. Information on the Site

We aim to keep the Site accurate and up to date, but it is provided for general information only. Industry figures are attributed to their published sources and are not our own estimates. Examples labelled as sample or demo data are illustrative and are not results from any customer. Nothing on the Site is legal, financial or accounting advice, or a promise of any particular amount recovered.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

4. Intellectual property

The Site and its content, including text, design, logos and the names Aeque and Shortfall, belong to Aeque or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own reference. No other licence is granted.

5. Information you send us

If you contact us, we use the details you provide to reply and to discuss our services. Please do not send billing files or personal data by email; we will provide a secure method once an engagement is agreed.

6. Third-party links

The Site links to third-party websites, such as the sources of the figures we cite. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

7. Disclaimer

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aeque will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100).

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
